I will dominate 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters met for the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
